Pregnancy and birth is a rite of passage that brings new people and new parents into the world. This special time deserves respectful, compassionate, and informed care. You can expect the needs and preferences of your family to be honored, including respect for your cultural, social, and spiritual values. We support this process from the first plans to conceive, all the way through to caring for your newborn.

The Physiologic (Midwifery) Model of Care
Parents have the choice between two approaches to maternity care: the medical model of care and the physiological model of care, also known as the midwifery model of care. The medical model of care is provider centered, birth is only normal in retrospect, interventions are routinely and indiscriminately applied to all parents regardless or preferences or need, and parents often times experience time restrictions or pressure to accommodate the preferences of their provider. This is not how we practice. We believe in the physiologic model of care, which is client-centered, respects birth as a normal life event, care is individualized and interventions only used when necessary, time charts are irrelevant, and clients are respected as autonomous and the best people to make decisions for themselves and their baby.
Whether you choose to birth at home, our birth center, or in a local hospital, we will respect your individuality, your desires for your birth, and your right to make decisions about your care.
