Newborn Care

You’ve just had a baby, perhaps the most awe-inspiring experience in life. The prospect of caring for your new little one can seem at once thrilling and overwhelming. The Wifeys are here to help.

Immediately after birth we monitor the birthing parent and newborn until stable. We also conduct a thorough newborn exam. We offer Vitamin K injection and eye prophylaxis, if desired by the parents. While at the birth center and during subsequent postpartum visits to your home, we will support you, your partner and family members in learning to care for your newborn (or simply help carry some of the load if the baby is not your first child).

We make sure that everyone in the household is comfortable with the new child, and ready to master the basic of caring for the new baby. Questions? Email us at info@montereybirthcenter.com.
