Monterey Birth & Wellness Center is committed to offering our community high-quality, integrative care, and we are pleased to offer ultrasounds (also known as sonograms) to our clients. Ultrasounds performed at the birth center by a staff midwife is included in the cost of your package or will be billed directly to your insurance. For complex ultrasounds like anatomy scans, clients will be referred to an expert at a 3rd party site.

pregnancy Ultrasound

Many families will choose to have 1 to 3 ultrasounds to monitor the health of the pregnancy and developing baby.  The fetal ultrasound can be performed abdominally or vaginally depending upon the gestational age of the fetus. This examination mayl include fetal measurement, anatomy screening, sex determination, (after 13 weeks) position, placenta location, and amniotic fluid volume assessment.

The Monterey Birth & Wellness Center is one of only 18 accredited birth centers in California, and the only one in central California.
